Quality Assurance Operator

Farmshelf is an early-stage high-growth startup that builds smart indoor farms. Our bookshelf-sized Farmshelfs provide leafy greens and herbs year-round to food halls, corporate cafeterias and restaurants, including those of acclaimed chefs José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson, and Claus Meyer. Together, our team of engineers, designers, fabricators, technicians and plant scientists take on the challenges of creating agricultural technology innovations to feed our growing urban populations.

We are looking for a QA operator who will perform daily software diagnostic tests on our new product, making sure our customers enjoy our merchandise so that our company can achieve long-term success. Your duties will include verification of our hydroponic units as they roll off of the production line.

You should possess a trained eye for detail, be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and excellent comprehension of quality standards are also required.

Quality Inspector responsibilities are:

  • Examine and follow instructions for the quality expectations of products and supplies

  • Inspect upstream supplies, approving or rejecting them according to quality standards, and record any issues along the way

  • Perform testing procedures with the help of specialized automated systems

  • Keep records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.

  • Review procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards

  • Perform final cleaning and assembly after a unit has passed all of the QA tests

  • Assist with daily inventory of upstream supplies

  • Create reports on your activities and present them to the Quality Assurance Manager/ Escalation Specialist

Quality Inspector requirements are:

  • 1+ years' experience of working on a Quality Assurance Inspector or other similar position

  • Physical fitness ability to crouch down and lift up to 30lbs

  • Significant experience with quality control standards and testing methodologies

  • Excellent knowledge of quality testing machines and systems

  • Close attention to detail and a results-driven approach

  • Responsible and trustworthy

  • Good knowledge of google suite, word, and excel

  • Experience with plumbing, hydroponics, and electromechanical products is a BONUS

  • High School Degree; additional qualification will be a plus
